Instructions:

- Add salt and continue stirring for another 5 minutes to ensure the cornmeal is fully cooked.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let the mămăligă sit for a few minutes to set.
- Spread the mămăligă on a serving platter or individual plates.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese on top of the mămăligă while it is still warm so that it melts slightly.
- Serve the mămăligă hot as a main dish or as a side dish with various accompaniments such as meat, stews, or sausages.
- Optionally, you can serve mămăligă with a dollop of sour cream on top.
